RETURN & REFUND POLICY

At Imperial Currency Holdings, we specialize in collectible paper currency (banknotes). Because banknotes are delicate historical artifacts, we maintain a strict but fair policy to protect collectors and our inventory. Please read carefully before returning an item.

📅 1. 7-DAY INSPECTION PERIOD
You have 7 calendar days from delivery date to inspect your banknote(s) and request a return. This window gives you enough time to verify authenticity, condition, and grade opinion, while ensuring notes aren't exposed to long-term environmental damage.
Condition requirement: The note must be returned in the exact same condition as shipped — no new folds, creases, stains, or signs of handling (fingerprints, smudges).
Protective sleeve: Keep the note inside the original archival Mylar/BCD holder. If you must remove the note, use cotton gloves to avoid oil transfer.
Return shipping: You are responsible for return postage, and we strongly recommend USPS Registered Mail (for insurance over $1,000) or fully insured UPS/FedEx. Imperial Currency Holdings is not liable for items lost or damaged during return transit.

🚫 2. NON-RETURNABLE & FINAL SALE ITEMS
The following items are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund for any reason:

"Unsearched" lots / Mystery packs: Once opened, the contents are considered final sale.

Raw (uncertified) banknotes over $500: High-value raw notes are sold "as-is" regarding grade opinion and eye appeal.

International orders: Due to customs delays, longer transit, and return logistical risks.

EPQ / PPQ designated notes: Superior paper quality is extremely sensitive; these are non-returnable once handled outside the original holder.

Slabbed/Certified notes that have been cracked open or removed from holder: Once the holder is broken, the note cannot be accepted back.
If you purchase a note marked as "Final Sale" or "As-Is" on the product page, that sale is not reversible.

📜 3. THE "GRADE OPINION" RULE
Grading paper currency is subjective — especially for raw (uncertified) notes. We do not accept returns because a third-party grading service (PMG, PCGS Banknote, CGA) gave a lower grade than you anticipated, or because you changed your mind about the note's "eye appeal."

Raw notes: The grade listed is our expert opinion based on international standards. Different experts may assign a different grade.

Certified (slabbed) notes: We guarantee the holder is authentic and unaltered. If you crack the note out of the slab to attempt re-submission, you forfeit return eligibility.
Tip for collectors: If you're uncertain about the grade, request high-resolution images before purchasing. We're happy to assist.

📬 4. RETURN PROCESS & AUTHORIZATION
To return an eligible banknote, you must request a Return Authorization (RA) within 7 days of delivery.

Email us at support@imperialcurrencyholdings.com with your order number and clear photos of the note (front & back).

Once approved, you will receive an RA number and return shipping instructions.

Ship the item within 3 business days after receiving the RA, with tracking and full insurance (declared value).

Packages shipped without RA number written on the outside may be refused.

💰 5. REFUNDS & RESTOCKING FEE
After we receive and inspect the returned note (usually 3-5 business days), we will process your refund to the original payment method.

Refund amount: Purchase price of the note minus original shipping costs.

Restocking fee: A 15% restocking fee applies to all banknote returns. This covers re-holder supplies, re-authentication, anti-counterfeit verification, and market risk. No restocking fee is charged if the error is ours (wrong item shipped, or note not as described in title).

Refunds typically appear within 3-10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
Example: If you return a $400 banknote, a $60 restocking fee will apply, and you will receive $340 refund (excluding shipping). This allows us to maintain premium inventory standards.

✅ 6. AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEE – COUNTERFEIT PROTECTION
Your trust is our currency. If a banknote purchased from Imperial Currency Holdings is ever proven not genuine by PMG (Paper Money Guaranty) or PCGS Banknote, we offer a full 100% refund including original shipping and return shipping costs — regardless of the return window.

Requirement: You must submit the note to the grading service and provide us with the official "Genuine Uncertified" or "Not Genuine" determination letter.

We will also reimburse you for the grading fee (up to $50).
This guarantee does not apply to altered notes (repaired, recolored, re-perforated) unless the grading service states the alteration was undisclosed at the time of sale.

📦 7. SHIPPING INSURANCE & DAMAGE CLAIMS
If your package arrives visibly damaged or is lost in transit:

Document everything: Keep original packaging and take photos before opening if possible.

Contact us immediately within 48 hours of delivery so we can assist with carrier claim forms (USPS/UPS).

Refunds are processed only after the carrier approves the insurance claim. We will expedite the process and provide you a replacement or refund once the claim is settled.

Note: "Lost in transit" claims must be filed within the carrier's deadline (usually 30-60 days). We will guide you, but you may need to provide proof of value.
