SHIPPING POLICY

📦 SECURE & PROFESSIONAL DELIVERY

At Imperial Currency Holdings, we understand that you are acquiring a piece of American history. Every banknote—whether a Civil War Greenback, a high-grade Legal Tender Note, or a rare collectible—is packed with the utmost care to ensure it reaches you in the exact condition you purchased.

We use only archival-quality, rigid materials for all shipments. Notes are shipped flat and fully protected between stiff cardboard or high-density plastic holders, then sealed in moisture-resistant packaging. This prevents bending, creasing, or any environmental damage during transit.

🚚 DOMESTIC SHIPPING (UNITED STATES)

Carrier: All domestic shipments are sent via UPS or USPS Priority Mail Express / Registered Mail, at our discretion, based on the value of the item.
Insurance & Signature Confirmation: Every package is fully insured for the purchase price and requires an adult signature upon delivery. This is mandatory for all orders and is included in the shipping cost.
Processing Time: Orders are processed within 1–3 business days after payment is confirmed. You will receive a tracking number via email as soon as your order ships.
Delivery Timeframes: Standard domestic delivery typically takes 2–5 business days after processing. Please note that these are estimates only and not guaranteed.

For our highest-value notes (e.g., Fr. #16c 1862 $1 Legal Tender): We may require USPS Registered Mail for its chain-of-custody security and superior insurance coverage. This service can add 1–3 days to transit time but provides the highest level of protection.

🌍 INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We are pleased to offer international shipping to most countries upon request. Due to the value and historical significance of our banknotes, international shipments are subject to additional review and requirements.

How to Request: Please contact us before purchasing to confirm availability and obtain a shipping quote. We will need your full shipping address and the specific note(s) you wish to order.
Carriers & Insurance: International orders are sent via UPS Worldwide Express or USPS International Registered Mail (with full insurance). Additional insurance fees may apply for very high-value notes.
Customs, Duties & Taxes: International buyers are solely responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or VAT imposed by their country. These charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. Please check with your local customs office before ordering.
Delivery Estimates: International delivery typically takes 7–21 business days, depending on the destination and customs clearance. Delays due to customs are beyond our control.

Important: Some countries prohibit or restrict the import of historical currency. It is your responsibility to ensure the item can be lawfully imported. Imperial Currency Holdings cannot be held liable for seized, delayed, or destroyed items by foreign customs.

📝 ORDER PROCESSING & CONFIRMATION

Once you place an order, you will receive an email confirmation. When your order ships, we will send a second email containing:

Tracking number and carrier information
Insurance confirmation details
Signature requirement notice

Please ensure that your shipping address is correct at checkout. We cannot reroute packages after they have been shipped.

🔒 INSURANCE & RISK OF LOSS

Title and risk of loss pass to you when we transfer the product to the carrier. However, because we fully insure every shipment, we will assist you in filing a claim in the rare event of loss or damage.

Lost or Damaged in Transit: If your package arrives visibly damaged, do not discard any packaging. Photograph the damage and contact us immediately (within 48 hours of delivery). We will initiate an insurance claim on your behalf.
Signature Required: Packages are not left without a signature. If you are unable to sign in person, consider having the package delivered to your workplace or arranging a pickup at a local carrier facility.
Failed Delivery Attempts: If the carrier makes multiple delivery attempts and you do not arrange pickup, the package may be returned to us. You will be responsible for any re-shipping fees.

🏛️ SPECIAL PACKAGING FOR HIGH-VALUE BANKNOTES

As described on our product listings (e.g., for the 1862 $1 Legal Tender Note Fr. #16c), each note is:

Placed in an archival-quality, inert currency sleeve (Mylar or similar).
Sandwiched between rigid, unbendable boards to prevent any flexing.
Sealed in a water-resistant, tamper-evident envelope before being placed in the shipping carton.

This packaging exceeds the requirements of the United States Postal Service and major carriers for "valuable documents." The note will arrive in the same pristine condition as when it left our vault.

❄️ STORAGE & HANDLING DURING EXTREME WEATHER

During periods of extreme heat, cold, or humidity, we may delay shipping by 1–2 days to ensure that your banknote is not exposed to damaging environmental conditions during transit. We will notify you if such a delay is necessary.
